Conditioned Power
Power systems in Mountain Media's Albany data centers aredesigned to run uninterrupted even in the unlikely event of a totalpower outage. All servers are fed with conditioned UPS (UninterruptiblePower Supply) power that will run if utility power fails. In the eventof an extended power outage, an on-site diesel generator can runindefinitely. The generator is regularly tested to ensure that it willcontinue to function in the event of an emergency.
Colocation
Colocation is an outsourcing solution in which Mountain Media places its own servers in a data center and is responsible foradministration whilst the data center provides the server cabinet space, bandwidth, routing, and electricity. Our data center is located right here, near Albany, NY.
Colocation is not reselling. Mountain Media owns the servers and switches that connect our servers to the data center's Internet connections.
