Configuring Your Email to Send Mail

Outgoing mail MUST use Authenticated SMTP on port 587.


Outlook Express

1. Click TOOLS.
2. Click ACCOUNTS.
3. Click PROPERTIES.
4. Click the SERVERS tab.
5. At the bottom of the "SERVERS" window, underneath "Outgoing Mail Server", the "My server requires authentication" should be checked.
6. Save the settings.


Outlook

1. Click TOOLS.
2. Click OPTIONS or ACCOUNT SETTINGS.
3. Double click actual email account to change settings.
4. Make sure "Require logon using Secure Password Authentication" is UNCHECKED.
5. Click "More Settings".
6. Click the "OUTGOING SERVER" tab.
7. Check "My outgoing server SMTP requires authentication" and also check "Use same settings as my incoming mail server".
8. Click the "ADVANCED" tab.
9. Incoming server: 110 and Outgoing server: 587
10. Click OK, Click NEXT, Click FINISH.


Thunderbird

1. Click TOOLS.
2. Click ACCOUNT SETTINGS.
3. Under SERVER SETTINGS:
3a. Server Name: pop.mountainmedia.com.
3b. User Name: full email address.
3c. Port: 110.

4. Under SECURITY SETTINGS:
4a. Use secure connection - NEVER.
4b. Use secure authentication - UNCHECKED.
4c. Click the ADVANCED button.
Select GLOBAL INBOX.
Check "Include this server when getting new mail".

5. Under OUTGOING SERVER (SMTP):
5a. Click EDIT.
5b. Server name: smtp.mountainmedia.com.
5c. Port: 587.
5d. Under SECURITY and AUTHENTICATION:
Check "Use name and password".
User Name: full email address.
Use secure connection: NO.
